Dear readers

As mentioned in my last blog post, we are looking for ideas to develop new business cartoons. Dear readers, we really need your help!

“What type of cartoons are you looking for?” you may ask.

Firstly, we specialize in educational business cartoons. Bottom line: our cartoons should teach a business lesson or principle. Our initial cartoons covered the following subjects:

Business growth

How do you grow your business? In our opinion, many entrepreneurs are overlooking one aspect of business growth, namely to maximize profit by reducing the business risks they are facing that have a negative financial impact on their companies.

Delegation of tasks

How can you focus on more important business decisions if you refuse to delegate operational activities to subordinates?

Business strategy and business strategic planning

Business strategic planning also means that you have to embrace change and the importance of planning.

Business risks

Business risks are the main reason why businesses fail or fail to grow. A business risk always has a negative financial impact on a company.

Workplace

What aspect in the workplace of your employees causes them to “run away”?

Computers / IT

Information technology brought many benefits to us. One is increased efficiency and productivity. However, we need to manage the risks that are associated with computer systems; e.g. computer viruses.

Market / business change

Market demands are changing continuously. Your business strategy needs to keep changing customer needs in mind.

Small business

Due to huge governmental control (by means of legislation) over public companies in the past few years, small and medium businesses might be in a position to capitalize on this and create the “new era of small businesses”.

Business policies

You need to exercise control over your business by means of business policies, procedures and standards.

Business systems

Business is more about systems and planning than the product itself. Some of the most simplistic products in the world created more wealth for their “creators” than elaborate products did for there “founders”. More often than not, systems and planning are the reason why companies with “simple” products succeed so many times.

Legal and business ethics

Business ethics is desperately needed in most of our companies – just as it is needed in the legal industry today.

Business profits /success

Profit erosion is the reason why businesses cannot succeed. Reduce profit erosion with deliberate profit protection planning.

Business opportunities

The one side of “business” is the opportunities you need to pursue. The other side presents the risks that you need to reduce…

Business mission statement

Your mission statement must bring in the money and profits.

Business failure

What lessons can we learn from business failure? We need to learn them!

HR /human resources

We need to treat our employees as valuable assets – and NOT as assets that depreciate over a period of time! And we need to listen to them too – they just might know something that we don’t!

Customer service

Cash is King… but so the customer too (and the customer brings in the cash!). Bad customer service has brought down many might ones in the past!

Business survival

What is THE one aspect of business survival that has been overlooked? The rumor has it that it is easier to cut cost and the payroll than risks… the biggest delusion ever!

Client service

Excellent client service will create loyal clients, coming back for more and more, over and over again.

Business risk management

Business risk management is actually a system by which a business controls, reduces and mitigates its business risks by means of deliberate planning.

Business controls

You reduce business risks by means of preventive, detective and corrective controls.

Business plans

Your business needs a business plan. Army battles are never fought without a thought-through plan.

Business presentations

Need some cartoons on boring business presentations. We got them!

However, there are many business subjects that haven’t been explored by us yet; e.g. marketing. Therefore, we need your assistance! Here are some guidelines when we create ideas for our business cartoons:

  • A cartoon must NOT be time limited. For example, a cartoon on the global recession won’t work as it is a time limited cartoon. Cartoons on current politics won’t work either.
  • A cartoon must illustrate a business lesson or principle that transcends time, culture and country specifics – as far as possible. A cartoon mentioning, for example, a specific country’s government department or legislation won’t work.
  • A cartoon may include humor – without compromising the message. Of course, the humor should not offend people.
  • Of course, it must be original!
  • It must be educational in nature – so that it can be used in training, presentations, e-mails, newsletters, web sites, books, magazines, marketing and advertising campaigns.

Should we decide to create the cartoon or image for you (by using your idea), you will receive the cartoon or image for FREE – after development!

However, please take note that we are under no obligation to create a cartoon or image for you if you have submitted an idea. We are also under no obligation to complete a cartoon before a certain time.

If we decide to create a cartoon or image by using your idea, the following legal conditions apply:

  • We will be the one and only copyright owner of the cartoon or image – we do not provide you with copyright on the cartoon or image. We retain all copyrights and other proprietary rights in or relating to our cartoons and images.
  • You won’t be allowed to change the cartoon or image in any manner (except for re-sizing it).
  • We have the right to make changes to your original ideas/requests.
  • We have the right to sell the cartoon or image to our customers (though you will receive it for free).
  • You are, however, not allowed to sell the cartoon or image.
  • You won’t have any legal or any other proprietary rights on the cartoon or image (including the income we will generate from the cartoon’s sales).
  • You will have to acknowledge us as the original source of the cartoon or image in all cases (“© YEAR Michiel Jonker; www.business-around-the-globe.com“).

When receiving a free cartoon or image from us (because we have used your idea), you may use it in:

  • Presentations (internally and externally) – without any limitation on the number of occasions.
  • Internal and external newsletters, memos and e-mails – without any limitation on the number of occasions.
  • Web pages and blogs – without any limitation on the number of occasions.
  • Books, articles and magazines – without any limitation on the number of occasions.
